Recently a ringtone commercial came on television for the popular “Silence, I kill you!” phrase from Jeff Dunham’s “Achmed The Dead Terrorist” ventriloquist act in 2003. From there on, I knew this was an act I must see again. This is comedy at its best, just going over 10 minutes, this is a movie you don’t want to miss. If you have seen it, it’s still worth another watch!
Google has just released another PR update, sending my unranked blog to PR1, effectively immediately! This was bound to happen of course, however I would’ve preferred to be ranked higher like my friend and work colleague, Chris Hamilton. His blog shot from PR0 to PR3 due to two high PR backlinks, from what we can tell anyway. Well done Chris!
To give you a simple idea, Page Rank ( PR ) has been important in the past due to it defines your websites worth. People were selling links on their website, anywhere from $10/month to $300/month, depending on their PR. Problem being, Google was aware of this, (for a long time I believe) and hit a lot of blogs hard, banning their website from Google and shooting their PR to 0.
There are certain ways of increasing PR and traffic to your website and this is generalised by two categories, White Hat SEO or Black Hat SEO. As you can probably already tell, White Hat is natural where Black Hat is done illegally. I don’t condone Black Hat SEO, I believe it’s pointless. You can gain higher returns over the long term using simple White Hat SEO techniques and various marketing strategies. Google is the biggest search engine in the world, why risk banning your website and losing 70-80% of your traffic?

Rockstar officially released a month ago they would be bringing the multimillion dollar game, Grand Theft Auto IV to PC and have just announced it will be using “Games for Windows Live” for its multiplayer mode. GTA4 PC which hits shelves this November 18th, will not only boost sales for Rockstar once again but will allow users to seamlessly translate the multiplayer console experience for PC gamers with their strong belief it will help build a strong foundation for the PC online community.
I personally own a copy of GTA4 for PS3 and have found the experience to be excellent as always expected, however there are always limits on consoles, not being able to modify certain aspects like graphics and downloading expansions/mods for the game like skins, new missions etc.
If you’re one of the unfortunate ones who didn’t have a large amount of cash lying about for the latest beefy consoles and have been waiting for GTA4 to be released on PC, you will undoubtedly be impressed by the features coming exclusively to PC.
GTA4 PC will include DirectX, expanded online multiplayer and in-game recording — about time? Now you can record all those superb moments where previously you would’ve said, “Oh did you see that?!” and followed a short reply, “No?”.
From my experience, playing a game with a good storyline, loads of missions and a endless amount of free gameplay is great, but going that one step further and adding multiplayer, allowing you to connect to the rest of world will make any game an enjoyable one, especially GTA4. Previously, online was only obtainable by a unofficial 3rd party who wanted to create a whole different world, now Rockstar has inbuilt that into GTA4 and has made it just that much better.
Below is a list of Chris Hamilton’s famous quotes. I hope you find them amusing as I do, but then again you will need to know of Chris and hes funny ways…Enjoy anyway!

Lehman Brothers, one of the major financial brokers in America, has been forced to file for the biggest bankruptcy in history, according to the Financial Review this morning. Lehman Brothers, the 158-year-old finance broker, had made over US$59 Billion in 2007 with it’s total assets equating over US$691 Billion in the same year. Lehman Brothers also employed over 26,200 employees in 2008 alone, 130 of which were employed here in Australia were forced to file for Chapter 11 with the bankruptcy court for the Southern District of New York - “In order to protect its assets and maximise value”.
At the same time, another large Wall Street bank, Merrill Lynch, has been sold to Bank of America as fear has been spread of a global meltdown in the financial market. As the United States is one of the biggest economies in the world with Wall St, this has impacted hard on our Australian market, with the stock market tumbling sharply to 4,817 - a decrease of 1.8 per cent.
One of the biggest drops was seen in National Australia Bank which dropped 4.1 per cent but our dollar climbed steadily and stopped trading at 82.14 US cents.
Employee's Vacating Lehman Brothers
The Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) commented, saying Lehman Brothers had been suspended for up to a month, because its third-party clearers Citi Securities and Berndale Securities had terminated their arrangements with the firm.
Worldwide Financial Institutions who have had dealings with Lehman Brothers stand to lose billions of dollars due to its recent declaration of bankruptcy. To minimise losses, there was an emergency trading session on Sunday in New York to allow them to unwind some of their positions with Lehman, lets hope things work out. Unfortunately, this will only delay the inevitable when stock markets fall fast when opened.
Apple has just released the latest version of iTunes which is now currently available for download. iTunes 8 includes a few new funky features that will surely help provide a unique experience when playing your loved music, over and over again. Looking to the right, the new look of the “Music” tab is introduced. Keeping everything very simplistic as always, Apple have used black, grey and white to introduce a very focused look. Everyone has different tastes and favourite colours but my assumption is they are trying to target the younger generation with this 2.0 look rather then the wise.
Genius
Genius is a new implementation by Apple which has two parts attached. Firstly is the Genius Playlists which helps save time by creating new playlists based on your song selection. You pick a song, hit the Genius button and voilà!, you have a playlist with all your songs that go together well with your current song selection - neat.
How iTunes Genius Works
The second part is the Genius Sidebar which will recommend songs based on your current playing song. Basically, it introduces new songs which are almost identical with your selected song. It won’t recommend songs that are already in your library. As you can see on the left hand side, (Click to view full image) you choose a song, hit the genius button and it will automatically find you related songs whether that be in your library or available for download through the iTunes store. I would have to say that this is a great marketing tool, allowing different artists to be heard depending on people’s tastes. It doesn’t force you to purchase the song, but it gives you incentive due to it’s relational to what you’re playing. Working on emotion/feelings - smart.

I’m always one for writing quality posts, for the best viewing experience possible. However, I am doing an interesting test which will involve a series of things for the popular search engine, Google. The test’s I’m doing are as follows:
Keyword Density - To see how I rank if I have more of the same keyword in one post. e.g. Andrew Knight
Bolding or Emphasising Keywords - This will be combined with the above. Bolding particular keywords and seeing if this indeed does contribute.
Adding a tag just for the keyword Andrew Knight and nothing else.
Linking to a popular external website, i.e. Wikipedia or News.com.au.
Interlinking different keywords to multiple posts, see if I rank better for those keywords. “Andrew Knight is my own personal blog.”
Destroying my competitor, Chris Hamilton who is, plain and simple - a Tyre Kicker.
The outcome will be an interesting one due to my current ranking for Andrew Knight. I was initially number one in the Australian’s results for Google but unfortunately it seems I have dropped to number eight. Not even ranking for my phrase break but ranking for the post about Nicole Kuepper which I posted a week or so ago now.
If you don’t know what a Tyre Kicker is, you can find it on the Urban Dictionary. They always have great urban words on there, it’s amazing some of the stuff you do find. I will post words on my blog, Andrew Knight if I find them worthy enough. A snippet from the term Tyre Kicker:
Andrew Knight: Hi I’m selling a car
Chris Hamilton (Tyre Kicker): Hello can you give me more information about your car. Andrew Knight: It’s a car.
Chris Hamilton (Tyre Kicker): It’s the car I want but I rang just for the sake of it I have no intention of buying it bye.
